Child and youth care centers are there to ensure that the needs of children are met when they cannot live with their own family. It’s a place for children to develop and grow as well as providing food, shelter, and space for play and leisure in a caring environment.
Lerato Child and Youth Care Centre have been a home to abandoned and abused children since 2000 when the founders fostered their first child. At the moment the home is a safe haven for 23 children from pre-school to high school.
The home has several project in the pipeline including a kitchen upgrade, building repairs and maintenance and installing a solar electrical system.
In addition they would like to add an additional wing to the housing that increase their capacity.
Another need is the revamp of the bedrooms and living area.
On 1 October 2022 the home is hosting a music festival to raise funds for the needs of the home.
Seven Rhythm Upliftment program will be providing volunteers and services on the day.
